OMGOMGOMG, These Two in a Miniseries Together

Unfortunately for us stateside, this miniseries will be airing in the UK. Wonder if we’ll get it over in the US too…I’d tell you a synopsis of the plot if it didn’t sound so boring. I suggest we just try to get a hold of it anyway for the fun of seeing Harry Potter grow up to be Jon Hamm (yes, I like him as himself a la SNL or Jimmy Fallon way more than as Don Draper). And while we’re at it, to set the record straight, I actually don’t have crushes on either of them. I just enjoy them both!

Source: dlisted AGAIN. Sorry it’s apparently all I read these days. I mean, I can’t help that it’s great, and you should probably check it out if you’re at least a little crude in your humor. Promise to diversify again soon!

I Don’t Even Watch Awards Shows, But I’ll Probably Watch This One

Saturday Night Live may not be funny anymore, but these two alum are great together! And they’ll be co-hosting the Golden Globes this year, on Sunday Jan 13th.  Which reminds me, didn’t Seth McFarlane get tapped to host the Oscars? I don’t know if he is as funny as his characters, but looks like I’ll be checking out some awards shows this year! This also reminds me I still need to check out Tina Fey’s book from a few years ago *moves to top of reading list*…

Like I Said, If We Must Endure Election Season…

… thank GOODNESS for some of the amazing creativity people come up with to keep us interested. On that note, Jon Stewart and Bill O’Reilly are going to be debating!! And not only in my dreams, on an actual streaming site. Save the date, Oct 6th at 8 PM, info here. My friends and I are having a viewing party :).

The Simpsons’ Political Commentary is the Best Political Commentary

Homer votes! In 2012, above, and in 2008, below (I put the more recent one first, but personally I thought the older one was even funnier). I don’t like all the negativity that comes out during election season, so thank goodness for the Simpsons, Jon Stewart, Steven Colbert, any anyone else who can bring a welcome funny but intelligent view on things :).

Football Season!!!

Yaaaay, welcome back football, how I’ve missed you! Above is RG III in his first regular season NFL game, from which the Redskins reined hailed victorious against the Saints! What teams are you excited/curious to see this year?

3 Day Weekends!

…are a great excuse to take a long weekend getaway. BUT then you have to deal with the increased traffic and crowds everywhere you’re trying to be. Which is why this year I took my long weekend a week early (yes, it meant taking a couple of days off work, and thankfully I had them to spare), and went to Nashville for the first time! Here’s a pic from the Grand Ole Opry, which was an absolute blast, and I’d totally recommend it even if, like me, you’re not really a country music fan. The night we were there, Lee Greenwood sang his famous song “Proud to be an American”… it was awesome to see live! This picture isn’t of him (my sense of decorum kicked in during Proud to be an American and I decided to just focus on the experience and not take pictures) but it is a very country music looking dude, so there you have it. Oh, and while I’m sharing, i should also share that this exists:

Cookie Dough Eggroll! at Jackson’s in Nashville

So as a result of my long weekend one week early, I’m catching up on stuff this weekend while you’re off having fun. Hope you have a great Labor Day!
