Electrician facing foreclosure wins $1mil, plans to take his girlfriend out to Red Lobster, and to help his mom 🙂

This story of one of the “smaller” prize lottery winners makes me happy. Sometimes I feel so disheartened by the sharp divide between the haves and have-nots in the world. Oddly enough, in this day and age $1 million does not make you a “have” but it still makes me feel good to see a “have not” get cut a break while still remaining humble as can be. And the article says he was one of the first people through the doors at the lottery HQ the next morning… Duh! I’d also want that money ASAP! Can’t wait to hear the stories of the 2 big winners!

Blog Appreciation Week, Day 2: Cocoa Likes This!

I profiled Cocoa Likes This! once before, shortly after starting my blog, because it was my inspiration to blog in the first place. Cocoa’s “drawlings” are simple, but fun and funny, and guarantee you a smile over something wholesome, which is so nice when there are so many snarky things out there competing for your laughs :P. Which is kinda the same theme I’m going for with my blog, and she made me start thinking about how maybe I could offer up something little too that some people might nevertheless find worthwhile :). I check her site out pretty regularly. Here is one of her recent comics, and if you click on it you can check out her site for more smiles ‘n laughs:

Full House Reunion!!

Well, guess some producers put together a Full House reunion, and some of the cast tweeted pics! No Olsens to be found, but the rest of the main cast was there. I have no idea if what results from this will be an episode (hopefully) or just catching up with cast, but either way I’m watching. Loved that show! Miss wholesome TV like that. Think Modern Family is the closest thing today, and I lovvve that show too.
